Our pack is a family-oriented, high-energy, active pack. We
are chartered by St. John's Church, located at 300 Jefferson Street in
downtown Algonquin. Our pack meets on the third Thursday of each month at
Lincoln Prairie School on Harvest Gate in Lake in the Hills, from
7:00-8:15pm, with a few exceptions. Our pack meetings are
family events. Our pack committee meets on the first Monday of each month.
All registered parents are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
In addition to being part of the pack, each scout is a
member of a den, a group of 5 to 8 boys of the same grade level. Dens meet
at least twice a month to work on badge requirements. At the Tiger level
(1st grade), the scout attends den activities with his adult partner. Each
Tiger family should be responsible for arranging 1-2 activities that will
enable the scouts to achieve Tiger rank. The day, time, and location of the
Tiger den meetings are decided upon by the Tiger adult partner arranging the
activity. Beyond the Tiger level (2nd - 5th grade), the scout attends den
meetings with his fellow den members and at least two den leaders. All
parents are expected to participate at the den level, as directed by the den
leader. Activities completed during den meetings (grades 1 through 5)
together with activities completed at home (grades 1 through 3, as
determined by the den leader) enable the scouts to achieve their appropriate
rank by. The days, times, and locations of den meetings are at the
discretion of the den leader.
Scouts are expected to wear their uniforms to pack and den
meetings. For Cub Scouts that is the blue shirt and rank-appropriate scarf
(scarf provided by the pack). Red vests are encouraged. Uniforms can be
purchased at J. Scott Men’s Wear on Williams Street in downtown Crystal
Lake. Pack 150 provides the handbooks the ‘class B’ uniform, a blue Pack 150
T shirt.
We have many fun activities planned for the summer. Your son
is welcome to participate in any of them. For a list of activities and
